First, it’s important to understand the two parts of a Cricut machine that work together: the machine, and the Cricut Cartridges. The cartridges can be substituted with ease. Cricut Cartridges are either letters, or pictures. If you want to do cool stuff with shapes, look no further than the picture cartridges. But it is definitely true that Cricut Cartridges are extremely beneficial.
Turning the Cricut Machine on is next. The machines draw power from included power adapters. The machines also have USB ports. Cut-outs are easily made – all you need is for a Cricut Cartridge to correspond to a button on the Cricut keyboard. To make a cut with it, simply press it. Cutting mats are also very helpful, for holding paper in place. The Cricut has an easy to locate ON button for once it is plugged in. In the section of the product that is frontal and right-sided, you will find the button. The display monitor will turn on. Next, you must utilize the overlay for the keypad.
Fourth, insert the Cricut Cartridges into the cartridge slot, with the sticker facing outwards. The machine will initialize the cartridge within a few seconds, and understand the fonts and/or shapes on it. As long as the name shown on the keypad overlay matches with the name shown on the Cricut cartridge, it should work just fine. If not, there will be dire consequences.
It is very important to remove the Cricut cutting mat’s protective layer. If it’s not your first time using it, all you have to do is align the paper with the corner alignment mark symbol. Gently push on your paper to press it into the mat, and you’re all ready to go!
The Cricut keyboard is really not so different from a computer keyboard. When you turn the dial on the machine, you’ll be changing the size of the cutouts. The Cricut keeps track of all of these things, and shows you your settings on the LCD display. These machines make switching paper very easy – you just press the Load Paper button.
